The Timeline View provides a horizontal view of all technicians and their scheduled jobs. It's perfect for seeing the big picture and managing multiple technicians at once.

Layout
- Left Column: Technician names with color indicators and work hours
- Main Area: Time slots with job blocks positioned by time
- Job Blocks: Color-coded by technician, width = duration
- Current Time: Red vertical line shows the current time
Drag & Drop Scheduling
Grab a Job
Click and hold any job block on the timeline
Drag to New Time
Move horizontally to change the time, vertically to change technician
Confirm
Release to drop. A dialog shows the new schedule for confirmation.
Done!
The job is rescheduled and the customer can be notified automatically
If you drop a job at a time that conflicts with another job, you'll see a warning. The system checks for overlapping appointments.
Day vs Week View
Day View
- Shows single day in detail
- Time slots from 7 AM to 7 PM
- Best for daily planning
- Larger job blocks, more details visible
Week View
- Shows full 7-day week
- Compact job indicators per day
- Best for weekly overview
- Hover for job details
Toggle between views using the Day / Week buttons in the header.
Technician Information
Hover over a technician's name to see:
- Starting Location: The technician's home address/start point
- Today's Jobs: List of scheduled jobs with times
- Job Locations: Where each job is located
The technician's color is used consistently throughout the app - on job cards, routes, and reports.

Each job on the timeline shows:

Jobs with red backgrounds indicate scheduling conflicts. The ⚠ icon warns of overlapping appointments.
Click any job to open the job detail page. Drag to reschedule.
Tips & Tricks
- Quick Reschedule: Drag a job to a different time slot. The system calculates the new time based on where you drop it.
- Reassign Technician: Drag a job from one technician row to another to reassign it.
- View Conflicts: Jobs at the same time are shown side-by-side, making conflicts visible at a glance.
- Keyboard Navigation: Use arrow keys to navigate between days when the date picker is focused.
