Garage Door Quote Builder

Overview

The Garage Door Quotes workflow is for businesses with industry type garage door. It provides a dedicated quote builder with door configuration, styles, colors, openers, insulation, pricing breakdowns, and sharing—separate from standard estimates.

How to access

  • List — Garage Door Quotes (/garage-door-quotes) — menu visible only when industry = garage door
  • New quote — /garage-door-quotes/new
  • Admin catalogs — style/color/motor/manufacturer/pricing management pages for shop admins
Set industry under Settings → Business Profile.

What you can do today

  • Build visual door quotes with manufacturer, style, size, color, insulation, and opener options.
  • View quote list, detail, totals, and status.
  • Edit, share, and send quotes (email/link/PDF per your setup).
  • Manage catalog data: manufacturers, styles, colors, motors, insulation tiers, pricing rules (admin pages).
  • Embed 3D Visualizer garage-door mode on website for leads.
  • Convert accepted work into Jobs / Estimates pipeline per shop process.

Prerequisites

  • Business industry type = garage door.
  • Price book and inventory maintained for doors, openers, hardware.
  • Optional: visualizer widget for customer self-serve designs.

Step-by-step

Create a new quote

  1. Garage Door Quotes → New.
  2. Enter customer and site details.
  3. Configure door (manufacturer, model, size, panels, color, windows, insulation).
  4. Add opener and accessories.
  5. Review pricing breakdown → Save.

Share with customer

  1. Open quote detail.
  2. Use Share, Send, or PDF action available on the page.
  3. Track status on list view.

Maintain catalogs (admin)

  1. Open garage door admin sections (manufacturers, styles, colors, motors, pricing).
  2. Update SKUs and price rules when vendors change.
  3. Sync high-volume parts with Inventory and Price Book.

After customer accepts

  1. Convert to Job or standard Estimate per your workflow.
  2. Schedule on Scheduler — see Calendar & Pipeline Workflows.

Current limitations

  • Industry-gated — hidden for non–garage-door businesses (use standard Estimates).
  • Separate code path from generic estimate builder—some invoice/tax behaviors may differ slightly; test end-to-end.
  • Catalog admin is powerful but manual—no live manufacturer API feeds.
  • AI estimate assistant targets generic estimates, not full door configurator logic.
