HVAC Catalog

Seed and maintain equipment types, manufacturers, models, and labor packages that staff pick when they build HVAC Comfort Proposals.
This catalog is HVAC-industry only. It does not appear for garage door or other industries. It is separate from the generic Price Book and from Garage Door Admin.

Overview

HVAC Catalog lives under Settings → HVAC Catalog (/settings/hvac-catalog). Admins add equipment types, manufacturers, models (with base cost), and labor packages (with price). The Comfort Proposal builder uses those rows when you add line items to Good / Better / Best packages.

Requires an HVAC industryType and hvac-presentations:manage (Owner/Admin-style roles). Non-HVAC businesses are redirected away from this page.

What you can do today

  • Seed defaults — one click to add starter equipment types, manufacturers, sample models, and labor packages. Safe to click again; the UI reports Already seeded if they exist.
  • Add equipment types (for example Furnace, AC, Heat Pump, Package Unit, Ductless Mini-Split).
  • Add manufacturers (name, code, optional website and phone).
  • Add models with name, code, base cost, manufacturer, and type. Specs such as tonnage, SEER, and AFUE can be stored on the model.
  • Add labor packages with name, code, and price (for example Standard Install, High-Efficiency Install, Haul-away).
  • Browse tables of models and labor packages on the same page.
Default seed examples include Carrier / Trane / Lennox / Rheem, sample models, and labor prices such as Standard Install $2,500, High-Efficiency Install $3,200, and Haul-away $450.

Prerequisites

  • Business industry set to HVAC.
  • hvac-presentations:manage (catalog seed and create). Staff who only build presentations need hvac-presentations:view / create / update on the list and builder, not necessarily manage.

Step-by-step

Seed the catalog

  1. Go to Settings → HVAC Catalog.
  2. Click Seed defaults.
  3. Confirm types, manufacturers, models, and labor packages appear in the tables.

Add a model

  1. On the catalog page, add a Model.
  2. Enter name, code, base cost, manufacturer, and equipment type.
  3. Save. The model is available in the Comfort Proposal builder when you add an equipment line.

Add a labor package

  1. Add a Labor package.
  2. Enter name, code, and price.
  3. Save. Staff can pick it as a labor line on a package tier.

Current limitations

  • Catalog items are scoped to your business (businessId); they are not a shared industry marketplace.
  • Codes must be unique per business.
  • The generic price book is not automatically synced into this catalog — maintain HVAC equipment here if you sell Comfort Proposals.
